Find Percentage is a free online utility to calculate percentages. It comprises 6 easy to use and intuitive calculators to find percentages.

The percentage sign % means 'per cent' or 'out of 100'. 15% means 15 out of 100 and 20% means 20 out of 100. The symbol '%' is equivalent of '1/100', so 80% is equivalent to 80/100 and 12% is equivalent to 12/100.

In everyday life, we use it as a convenient way to compare two numbers with respect to 100. If a student gets 600 marks out of 800, we will get its percentage by the formula: obtained marks/total marks * 100 or 600/800 * 100 = 75%, which means if there were total 8 questions of 100 marks each, the student obtained 75 marks out of each 100 marks question on average.

If 50% of the flowers in a garden are roses, it means that 50 out of every 100 flowers are roses. If there are a total of 600 flowers in the garden, then 300 of them are roses.

It will be calculated as: 600 * 50% = 300, or (we will replace the 50% to 50/100): 600 * 50 / 100 = 300.
